One Pool, Los Angeles was a two-year project that examined water reflections and how the images changed as the light changed across days and seasons. The series is about illusion. A newcomer, I felt like an alien in a mirage in Los Angeles. In this series, although LA-specific details like the palms and the colors locate me, the images are a multi-dimensional mirage. They portray an uncertain subterranean world that is a beautiful fantasy, yet transient. With this project, I embraced that illusion. To me, the images are symbolic of my experience of Los Angeles.
