Geometric Abstraction is a collection of images presenting facades in geometric shapes placed in a non-illusionistic space. The non-objective compositions embrace vibrant colors, light and shadows to create energizing pareidolia. My project intent is to seek the essence of the architecture by simplification and fragmentation. With my own stylization, these spiritually uplifting facades encourage viewers to reflect on the psycho-spatial relationship between humans and the built environment.

Gigi Chung is a San Francisco-based fine-art photographer who mainly works in medium-format digital photography. She has come to focus on architectural abstracts with a minimalistic approach.
