“Walls” by CP Cavafy. Chapter 1. Walls are physical and mental. The latter are constructed quietly by verbal cues in condemnations encountered throughout our lifetime. As children, they tell us to build walls and sandcastles. As adults, we live in boxes. But time goes by and on a cold afternoon sited next to the window where the sunset light is warm, we finally see the walls. They step from behind the curtains as ghosts, forced out by the light. We wonder when they were built since we never heard sounds of building or saw the builders and bulldozers. But here they are and now what?

Bio
Yiorgos Michael is self-taught visual artist and poet. His work is organized into series of stories inspired by his personal experiences. These stories blend images collected with an intentional photographic process. Yet, he embraces serendipity, allowing room for unexpected moments that introduce elements of surprise and discovery. The fusion of the planned and unexpected leads to juxtapositions of the representational against the abstract, the real against the mythical, creating a tension between ambiguity and clarity that invites the viewer to engage with the narrative.
