Inside Out
The selection of works presented, have been created over the last 16 years. Painting with digital photography is a slow process, like oil painting was. I'm a fan of Baroque Art and Dadaism, for the banality of everyday life and household events, and the absurd and unsetling. I'm also fascinated with the abillity to narrate a story in a still image. As well as representing an abstract sense of time: one that belongs to our memory, not that depicts reality or even the present time. These works they all seek for myself, reflecting my strugles and curiosities at the time they've been made.
Bio Mafalda Marques Correia is a photographic painter that lives and works in Lisbon, Portugal. With a background education on Fine Arts – Painting and on Photography Studies, she creates digital photographic paintings through the digital manipulation of photos. A fan of Baroque Art and Dadaism, is in the banality of everyday life and household events that she gets inspired to create her compositions. She aims her work to be a trigger for your mind to wonder around, as a stimulus that will be for ages in your wall, living and changing with you.
