The digital technology adopted in weaving industry has greatly enhanced production efficiency. However, many artistic and colour values have been compromised in weaving as the application of yarn colours is restricted by the performance characteristics of existing electronic Jacquard machinery. The physiological optical illusion of juxtaposed primary-coloured yarns have been investigated to overcome the current limitations in woven textile coloration. By using only 4-6 coloured yarns, unlimited seamless colours are created to introduce the first-of-its-kind Jacquard textile designs.
