PrizeHonorable Mention in Installation Art
Through the installation the invisible universe of the dust in the air around us is made visible for seconds at time, the dust specks glinting, resulting in a glittering starry sky. A black, empty square frame the size of a square metre, fixed in the darkened space, hangs as a dust trap. It contains cascades of invisible laser light. The drifting dust particles flash brightly as they pass through it before continuing on their way to infinity. The open frame is constantly filled with an ever changing constellation of glittering stardust which viewers can see as they walk around it.
