We created promotional items for a new album released by a Japanese rock band, which features an adolescent boy’s conflicted and opposing feelings from a broken heart. To visualize those feelings, we used contradictory images such as ‘an umbrella on a sunny day’, ‘a woman standing upside down’ and ‘blue sky in a puddle.’ We also applied the blueprint technique in the hope that its color degradation feature overlaps the fading memory of his ex-girlfriend. The whole design was finished with positiveness even in sorrow, signifying the loss of memories could be a process for a brighter future.
