    GARDE have renovated a traditional townhouse, "Former Banke Residence", into a hotel. The main point of this design was to provide guests with the experience of a traditional Kyoto townhouse and the traditional culture of Kyoto, where there are many historical architectures and cultures. While making use of the straight lines that are characteristic of Japanese architecture, we combined the color of travertine and warm pink, bronze detailing to create a Western design space with an unexpected atmosphere.
