    This project is located near Kyoto Imperial Palace, a beloved area where one can feel the history and nature of the ancient capital. This protected low rise residential neighborhood has strict height restrictions. Hence, a reverse beam structure is used to reduce building scale while ensuring comfortable living spaces with high ceilings and large openings. Furthermore, we have extracted and employed traditional design elements such as overlapping eaves on the facade and spatial planning with a hidden private entrance recessed in lush landscaping creating continuity with the Kyoto townscape.
