Mandolly

Psychologist Carl Jung believed that a mandala is “an instrument of contemplation”. The meaning of a given mandala depends on the individual creating or observing it. In the spirit of introspection, I made this mandala as a representation of a burgeoning self-awareness. The visual progression begins with my mother putting curlers in my hair, to playing Barbies with the girl cousins, to watching professional wrestling, to an expanding consciousness.
