‘Blue Phoenix’ is a sculpture comprising interlocked aluminium parts coated with a digitally-printed pattern fixed to a discrete base. Created in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and global conflict, this work celebrates life and progress in troubled and unpredictable times. It uses a rotating rod-like structure, as if a bird is opening its wings. The rich colours and changing appearance of the sculpture when viewed from different angles symbolize the imprints of hardships that humans endure; ultimately, however, we rise phoenix-like to welcome the new dawn.
