The artwork takes inspiration from the verse: light upon light” (The Quran, 24:35). The Arabic word "Noor” means light that has no heat; that is moonlight. Drawing on the core pattern “Mashrabiya”, the traditional window lattices found in Arabic architecture, these turned wood pieces act to emanate “Noor” towards the circular objects surrounding it. This radial sequencing possesses an unending beauty that refers to the growth patterns found in life, in trees, in the spread of light and the practice of faith.
