The autopsy, visualizes a vulnerable state, exposing and emphasizing the brain through abrasive and fibrous textures. Showing how expression is influenced by upbringing, the assemblage of Ma’s old fashion magazines and kitchen metal scrubs enforces expectations of femininity and domesticity. By obscuring the features, conflicting and blending them, I demonstrate a fluid understanding of gender.
