Generation Nap

The artist was inspired by a scene he came across of his father and his niece taking a nap one afternoon on the couch. Adults nap because they’re exhausted, the result of information overload and daily obligation, a reality exacerbated by technology. For children, by contrast, naps are a consequence of playing and learning, a care-free opportunity to develop and re-charge. The work serves as a reminder of the need to centre rest as part of a happy and meaningful life. We should always make time to disconnect from our hectic schedules, to appreciate and enjoy what we have around us.
