During 2018 to 2021 Shoko Otowa stayed in the city of Tours in France. It was a peaceful town in the Loire valley surrounded by white old castles and Loire River. When she came back to Japan, she realized that something inside her was "tuned" as a musical instrument. Since then, she cares more about the beauty within oilpainting as a tangible object. Such as: -Shades by the multiple layered bases. -Trace of strokes by brush and finger. -Thickness of paints. -Poetical sentiment narrated by blurred colours. These are paintings reflected the silence and peace that she found in France.
