De Kraak is a cross-border multimedia exhibition designed in the language of the sea. Visitors enter a transitional area where old stories from the Wadden Sea area are set in a context of human interference with nature. They are shown in shell like structures that function as viewing theatres. Their physical appearance mirrors the essence of natural shell behavior: folding, unfolding and enclosing, drawing the visitor into a strong connection to the message. A mesmerizing soundscape fills the space through a series of audio eyes. A lively water projection completes the immersive experience.

Bio
I work as an independent multidisciplinary designer, artist and teacher in Groningen, The Netherlands. In recent years the emphasis in my spatial work has shifted from the theatre stage to public spaces. My work includes media installations, light art and free installations. In my designs I combine monumentality with attention to detail. Tactility, the influence of light, and the viewer's perspective are important themes in my work.
