I spend much of my photographic time alone. As many photographers, I am sure, do. Perhaps my mind is gray, and perhaps that is why I am so absorbed in the colors that stream through my viewfinder. These photographs were created from the absence of a certain presence. In order to achieve a certain psychological portrayal, I suppressed color as much as possible. It is, of course, impossible to see the ocean together when we are apart. If I can show you this ocean through my eyes, does that mean that we have seen it together? If so, that would also be good.
