The COVID pandemic forever changed our cities. Many urban cores are less than 50% of their pre pandemic levels due to hybrid/remote work. The result has been a hollowing out of cities and a permanent change in the way we live and work.
This photo essay attempts to portray this. I used color in this series as a sign of optimism that we will successfully find our way through this fundamental change.
Bio I am a semi-pro enthusiast that has is largely self-taught. I learned to photograph storms beginning in 2005 which was an interesting and challenging way to learn to handle variable light conditions, fast moving subjects, dynamic light conditions and very little time to compose and shoot properly. I have evolved into more traditional and abstract landscapes, architecture, aerials, abstract aerials, and experimental abstracts. Photography is my excuse for traveling…or vice versa.
