These characters represent the number thirty-one. Tanka is a 31-syllable poem consisting of five lines in the pattern 5?7?5?7?7. This number has delicacy and infinite possibilities for expression because of its limited number of letters. In addition, 31 is said to be a number with strong luck. I created this work as if I were piling up the lines one by one.
