I was inspired by the sight of various flowers blooming vigorously all around in spring. I tried to express the shapes of flowers, their pleasant scent, and their swaying movements in a sensory way. I punched some holes in the tulle and edged them with floss-silk thread, I also cut the tulle into different shapes and edged them with floss-silk thread. By layering these tulle pieces, depth, new colours, and intermingling white lines are created. By doing so, it is expressed to convey flowers blooming freely all over the place, as if they were singing, dancing and full of vitality.
Bio I graduated Musashino junior Art College. Before that I had already graduated from Kunitachi College of Music in Tokyo, and had completed in music at University of London Goldsmiths' College ICC. Both art and music, I believe, mutually bring a good influence on my artistic expression. In 2009, I met floss silk. Since then, I have been making works of floss silk with some other fabrics. Floss silk can be formed freely and also stretched into a thread easily with hands. So, I use it like drawing and painting.
