Sweet Devil

My work reflects on the impermanence of beauty and the allure found in the breakdown of form. To achieve this I play with a layering of mediums, perhaps painting over or concealing a fully rendered figure, or running the risk of dunking a painting in gesso after hours of work. This destructive or “un-building” process is crucial in the development of my work. I immortalize my relationships in collage and paint, separating distinct features from their concrete forms to allow room for the viewer to identify and confer with their own memories, relationships, and emotional journeys.
