Flowers in the Arts: The Orchid

Daily, we are surrounded by a myriad of colors that enrich our experiences. Transitioning to black & white photography has allowed me to explore a different dimension creating a deeper connection with my subject. This shift in perspective has enabled me to focus on textures, shapes, forms and lighting techniques to create captivating studies. Through selected orchid images, aspects of love, luxury, beauty and strength are captured, intertwined with a rich history dating back to ancient Greece. My floral studies have drawn comparisons to renowned artists Mapplethorpe, O’Keeffe and Cunningham.
