"SKY MISSION"series YOKOHAMA AOBA HOUSE

A house cannot exist without a connection to the sky. This home is designed with that mission, drawing inspiration from traditional Japanese townhouses (machiya) that use central gardens to integrate nature. Built on a pentagonal plot, the house features a courtyard with rooms on both sides, connected by a passage. All rooms face the courtyard, allowing light and wind to flow inside. The space expands horizontally and vertically, creating a living environment that feels close to the sky. The circulation, like a Möbius strip, supports diverse lifestyles and ensures health during pandemics.
