    Inspired by the flexibility of wood veneers used on another project, the Client requested a built in furniture unit that was continuous and interconnected. In that, the concept for a “ribbon” was found. Programmatic requirements included a desk, stand for a turntable, shelves for vinyl records, art/book shelving and a seating area inside the shipping “container niche”. Ribbon Desk is a bespoke piece of furniture that winds and flows through the space, disappearing and re-appearing, that is both functional and expressive of Mad Studio’s “we can make that happen” approach to business.
