The Tsunami series commenced in 2019 and was inspired by the Fukushima nuclear disaster. The idea of a monster wave caused by undersea earthquakes or volcanic activity is scary. When considered in conjunction with the rising sea levels and changes in ocean current velocities caused by climate change, it is terrifying. These ink on paper line drawings are highly detailed and take a long time to create - thus allowing for contemplation of the vulnerability of our oceans and the planet. My art aims to raise awareness of the fragility and beauty of the oceans.
