    My inspiration for this book comes from three different perspectives. I want to introduce the beauty of Tokyo’s four seasons and the cultural events related to each. Tokyoites’ daily lives are connected to the seasons. I also want to show places of interest close by, where to eat and what the local dishes are, as well as popular and traditional souvenirs. I not only want to show visitors beautiful landscapes, but I also try to show a state of mind—to experience these beautiful places as places to heal the spirit and find peace in the big city of Tokyo.

    misaki matsui | photographer + film director After working as a marketing planner at the advertising agencies in Japan, she moved to New York and began her career as a photographer. She has exhibited in the U.S. and Japan. She started making films as well and her narrative and documentary films have been selected for some film festivals.
