    ‘Smile or Die’ is a university-acclaimed fashion film, featuring the graduate collection of the Finnish fashion designer Mirjami Nyman. Her unusual designs, inspired a dystopian vision of a world in which every smile is forbidden.

    Bittersweet emptiness in pale colours, offers the contrast to the happily filtered Instagram accounts on which the portrayed girls would probably present themselves in “our world”.

    Lead by the conviction that fashion film principally has the power to transport societal criticism visually, the filmmaker duo questions the lengths to which we go to achieve happiness.
