This composition envisions my ideal for the future city. The starting point is my series of photographs of ‘Trudo Vertical Forest’ in Eindhoven (NL), a sustainable residential tower by architect Stefano Boeri. I separately photographed four corners of the tower and put them together into an X-shaped junction, creating a utopian city view that might actually be realized. Looking up in such a steep angle heightens the level of abstraction which shows the buildings beautiful rhythm. It also sets the stage for a luscious dance with the trees and bushes.

Bio
Observing the urban world, Paul Brouns (1967) is attracted by the abstract, rhythmic poetry of buildings and of façades in particular. He clearly concentrates only on particular elements of architecture, such as the rhythm of windows and the colour of wall surfaces. On purpose Brouns leaves out most of the context that surrounds the buildings, so all attention is drawn onto the walls themselves. Each image tells a different story because of the characteristics of the building, combined with light and details of the specific moment of capturing.
