Results from a three-year-long research project involve delivering various emotional tones of voice to hearing-impaired individuals. By incorporating visual elements, such as different colors, lights, forms, and textures, into four short clips featuring single letter movements (previously proven to convey specific voice sounds in prior research), total 120 short clips were produced as research materials. Following a survey of a designer group and in-depth interviews with a hearing-impaired group, thirteen clips were selected to convey emotions like fear, anger, and happiness.
