A vivarium is a small facility for keeping terrestrial and aquatic animals.
The Vivarium humanicum ingens consists of photographs of a total of 36 glass segments surrounding a house. The glass segments are arranged in such a way that they keep the uncontrolled shrubs growing behind them at bay towards the street and at the same time this combination is directed outwards like a fortress. The people who live behind this naturally constructed wall cannot be seen; they disappear into the thicket of the vivarium wall.
