"In a Mood for Love" is a photographic project that explores the complex and multifaceted nature of queer intimacy in the context of common experiences of love. Through a combination of figurative portraits and still life compositions created with a ritualistic approach, Xiangyu offers a poetic auto-fictional narrative into the psychological mechanisms of romantic relationships. By immersing himself in the re-experience and re-enactment of the mood swings and behavioral patterns of a relationship, the artist invites viewers to connect with their own common experiences of love and pain.
