The project of photographing the women’s kitchens is my life’s work. Kitchens reflect women's wisdom, feelings, ideas, and values of women in their daily lives. By photographing kitchens, I want to make visible the unseen forms of women. The photographs of their kitchens are a kind of portrait. The title is a quote from a poem by the American poet Emily Dickinson. “If I can stop one Heart from breaking, I shall not live in vain.” Poetry and art are found in the activities of nameless people, and the talents of nameless women are brewed in their tireless daily lives.
