"Caged" is a fashion and sculptural piece commentating on the systemic constraints imposed on women in society. It depicts a powerful Queen trapped and forgotten, surrounded by blackberry bramble. She is forced to eat and be pricked by the fruit of her captivity, symbolizing social structures that both "feed" and wound women. This work explores the micro and macro ways women are cornered into submission and restrictive gender roles. "Caged" invites reflection on how women are undeniably powerful, yet are obviously restrained.
