The photo was taken from a drone from a height of about 30 meters. It shows the thawing surface of one of Milicz's ponds. What you can see on it are shapes created by nature, the slow process of thawing. Gases are emitted from the bottom of the ponds and cause the ice to thaw faster. Where the ice is thinner, the light reflects differently, thus creating amazing shapes-something like neurons. This is a great room for interpretation of what we see.
