We Americans eat junk. We put corn syrup and sugar in almost everything. It is SUPER addicting. I've never done drugs, smoked anything, or even drink coffee, but my name is Mike, and I am addicted to sugar. It is a real struggle to say no to desserts, but even if I did that, we still have sugar in EVERYTHING. I created his series using everyday consumables and easily obtainable items and showed myself consuming them as if they were an illegal substance. Originally I was going to do them all as grainy B&W, but in the end elected for selective color of the sugars and a more cinematic display.

Bio
Mike grew up in Pennsylvania and in 2005 moved to Arizona where he’s rarely cold and doesn’t have to shovel snow. He graduated from Bucknell University with a major in English and a minor in Chemistry and still wonders what to do with them. ? He currently works as a nuclear medicine technologist mainly so he has someone to talk to. This lets him photograph on the side without having to live on ramen and sleep on friends’ couches. The rest of his time is devoted to various cats. They don’t like ramen, but they do like couches. ?
