The new buildings maintain the layout of the pre-existing buildings, although they are repositioned so as not to create barriers and to allow the view of the estuary, giving visual continuity to the roads that surround them. Regular in plan, a continuous skin runs through the buildings between the east and west facades, giving continuity to the facades and roof, folding the volume into organic shapes as a nod to the sea and the estuary they face and as a way of breaking with the excessively industrial aesthetic common in this type of environment.
