La Papel Picado is a community center located in the vibrant Mission District of San Francisco, It's a place for people to gather, celebrate, perform, relax and hold events and markets during weekends. The façade is inspired by the Mexican paper cutting art popular in the neighborhood. The project provides multiple stages for various performance types with different spatial experiences for both formal and informal, and enclosed and exposed performing space. The central cone lit up the building and brings spotlight effect to the entrance open stage, while supporting natural ventilation.
