"Jungle Dresses" is the title of this series of paintings. The series is autobiographical. It has emotional connections and connections to memory. It is a blue dress and a green dress worn by two young women. It is about dancing. It is about the quirkiness of the floral patterns and colors of the two dresses. It is about my illusive memories and emotions. And so I reconstructed the memories, not as it was, but with elaboration and imagination, discarding barriers and often reviving a gradual connection to memory and emotion. The result is a greater and more surprising reality.
