Jeanne is a unit of two female Japanese artists. In the city of Tokyo, two women from different backgrounds had one thing in common: they wanted to live alone. The duo interviewed 30 women about their turning points, from which they weave together documentary and tableau to colorfully interpret the ambiguous aspects of memories and emotions that cannot be expressed in words. The episodes are sometimes grim, sometimes funny and humorous. The artists' intention is to focus on and visualize an environment that is often overlooked by women in contemporary Japanese society.
