The Remains of The Day
Inspired by the abandoned ruins in Taiwanese nature, this project explores the inevitable disappearance of our existence and the correspondence between earth and body. Unlike nature and its infinite cycles, we as humans are such a fleeting existence. Time marches forward despite our best efforts to suspend it in place, and what remains are just fragments of our passing. Through reinterpreting the juxtaposition of natural abundance and fragility of the man-made, I wish to offer consolation for the ephemerality of our time and rebuild a relationship with nature that is harmonious and reciprocal.
Bio Iris Zhiting Guo is a Taipei-born womenswear designer based in London. Specialising in creative pattern cutting and craftsmanship, her work strongly emphasises silhouettes and quality fabric choices. Committed to delivering genuine clothes, her creations exemplify her personal experiences and exquisite refinement in crafts.
