Modern Fairy Tales

Modern Fairy Tales is a series shot for handbag brand RoviMoss and their lookbook. Reimagining fairy tales with a modern, whimsical twist brings to life their brand positioning “classics reborn”.

We re-interpreted fairy tale classics Sleeping Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, the Wizard of Oz, Little Red Riding Hood, Snow White among others. The reinterpretation of these classics is fueled with a modern twist to embody the modern point-of-view from the brand. Fairy tales come from a dark and place of depth, complexity and meaning; they're not all shiny, happy Disney tales.

The series has been an award-winning body of work, recognized as a PDN Photo Annual winner, International Color Awards, Kontinent Awards, PX3 Prix de la Photographie Paris awards among others.

Bio
Susan is an award-winning photographer, with work bridging commercial and fine art worlds in her conceptual approach to fashion, portraits, things, and motion. Her work has been described as cinematic, moody and emotionally charged with color and dark humor. She is most known for “Modern Fairy Tales”, a photo + video series that reimagines well known fairy tales through their lesser-known, darker-rooted story. Her work has been shown in NY, LA, SF, Minneapolis, Tokyo and most recently at Aqua Art Miami / Art Basel.
