The artwork shown is my physical journal of my exploration of the making of samurai armor and weaponry, most notably the katana and nodachi. The reason I find the samurai interesting is because, compared to other warriors during that period, the samurai were the most decorated and most highly skilled warriors. Their armor and weapons would have an unimaginable amount of craftsmanship and detail, even with the lack of technology.
The pieces are made out of poplar wood, brass, copper, cotton rope, leather, bamboo, twine, sting ray skin, and cold steel.
