This painting uses the Chinese Realistic Painting technique, Gongbi. It depicts a traditional Chinese good luck charm with a Chinese knot attached to a piece of jade. In the background, it says "good fortune as one wishes" in Chinese. On the jade, it says "fortune." The color red and jade is believed to bring good luck in traditional Chinese culture, hence both are commonly used in making good luck charms
