The Australian Ballet China Tour

I was the photographer for The Australian Ballet's tour to China in 2018 and embarked on a project taking the dancers out into the streets of Beijing. The images capture the energy, grace and passion for movement embodied in the dancers and juxtapose their classical form with the gritty urban landscape of this iconic city. The dancers are removed from the highly controlled environment of the stage, and placed in the crowded, gritty streets of Beijing to create humorous, joyful portraits celebrating the athletic prowess of the dancers set against the mundane reality of the urban familiar.

Bio
I have been working as a photographic visual artist for the last 25 years, exhibiting extensively throughout Australia, as well as holding solo shows in London, Shanghai and Barcelona. My work is collected privately in Australia and abroad,and held in the collections of the South Australian Art Museum, West AustralianArt Museum, ArtBank, The National Gallery of Australia. Parallel to my art practice I have been working as a Film/TV Stills photographer. My credits include "Shine", "Rabbit Proof Fence", "Star Wars Ep 2". In 2014 I received my Masters in Photography: Sydney College of Arts
