Remnants

‘Remnants’ was created in response to Brittany Higgins coming forward about how she was assaulted in Australian Parliament and how Sarah Everard was abducted and murdered walking home from a friends house in South London in March 2021. The video works to display the psychological and physical degradation that ensues after assault. The vintage aesthetics of the costumes and set infer the notion that assault is inter-generational. Employing women of varying social-economic and cultural backgrounds at the end of the film suggests that assault is transnational, and can affect any woman.
