    Automatism

    The subconscious is deep well that an artist can drink from. This series of illustrations are inspired by the surrealist method of creating, automatism. Each illustration started with a light gesture comprised of dynamic lines. From there I allowed my subconscious to interpret the marks the way someone would attempt to make out an image in the clouds. Once the line drawing was complete I pushed the illustrations to completion with crosshatching and the spotting of blacks.
