We live in a world where a lot of different cultures clash every day. This was especially clear when we visited Istanbul. Istanbul is often regarded as the gate between east and west. Therefore we wanted to make clothes where we explored the Turkish history and the contrast it contains. Instead of being afraid of the differences in the cultures we embraced them. This project is based on three themes: Turkish folk costumes, scaffolding and contrasts. Contrast is an important theme, as it is often contrasts that help to create friction between the different cultures. Therefore we want to show, through our collection, what happens when contrasts meet.
