The photographs I use in Passports are taken from real migrants who flee their countries because of a great danger to their lives. It is possible that most of them are accepted as refugees for an indefinite time, others only temporarily and the most unfortunate will be deported to their countries of origin. They often tell me their stories, many of them totally heartbreaking. Although they know my motivation, I use different techniques to disorient their facial recognition in these photos, especially to children who also live these tragedies.
